Comments:	I recently read The Angel of Ashland by Vincent Genovese, who is from Minersville. He states that from 1870 to 1949 there were 30,068 deaths in the mining industry in Schuylkill County,A tough way to make a living!

I went to St.Georges School to the third grade, when our family moved to Chester, Pa. during World War 11. Most of my relatives have passed. My Aunt Anna Boxer Twardzik resides at the Shenandoah Nursing Home.

It was sold in 1905 to Brown & Kuenhnle and was renamed Sans Souci Park. Later owners were the Browns, O'Connells, Lee's, and Barr's. It was razed in 1970 to make room for the new Hanover Area High School. The park had all of the usual attractions including the Bear Cat roller coaster,a Merry-Go-Round, and a popular dance hall.In it's very early years (c1905), it also had a lake for boating and a double-decker dance hall; one band played simultaneously to both decks.
