Darryl Ponicsan
Born in Shenandoah, Darryl Ponicsan has written several
novels, two of which were made into successful motion pictures in 1973.
"Cinderella Liberty" starred James Caan and "The Last Detail" starred Jack Nicholson.
Both stories revolve around life in the U.S. Navy. Each film was nominated for various Academy Awards.
